Homecraft Brew & Wine Supplies was founded in 1981 by Marven Veinot, bringing his brewing expertise over from Labatt's Breweries upon retirement. Operations began on Wellington Street, in the Kingston downtown core.
As Kingston and its surrounding area grew, so did business. Joseph Sulley, recently retired from the Canadian Armed Forces, joined in and Homecraft opened their second store in the Kingston Township.
During the late '80's several changes took place. Marven left. The downtown store closed. And, in 1991, the big recession set in. That's when the growth in this industry began, and has ballooned to it's huge presence today. Homecraft has had to move locations a few times since, each time into larger premises, to where we sit today (we could still use more space!) at 2787 Princess Street, in the Woodbine Plaza, Kingston, Ontario.
Since 1991, we've grown to be the largest retail home wine & beer store in Kingston, selling to many places across North America, such as the Northwest Territories, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Arizona, Alabama, Maryland, Wisconsin, Florida, (you get the picture) and even have customers in South Africa.
Our business is built on customer relations. If you're not completely satisfied with any of our products or services, let us know... we'll take good care of you. This policy is adopted by most of our manufacturer/ suppliers too, like Winexpert, where their products are unconditionally guaranteed to please and impress.
Finally, this web site is here for you, our fellow beer and wine friends.. We'd be honoured to supply you with any of your home brewing and winemaking needs. We'll do our best to keep you informed of the new and exciting things on the market (see the monthly newsletter section), as well as answer every e-mail question and comment as soon as we possibly can. Lastly, if you have any concerns or comments about our site, or just questions about wine or beer, please, do not hesitate to call, write, or 'electronically communicate' with us.
